In Memoriam: Robert McArthur, Cumming School of Medicine
The Cumming School of Medicine is morning the loss of professor emeritus Dr. Robert McArthur, MD. He was 86.
McArthur was a paediatric endocrinologist and one of the first faculty members of the University of ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Faculty of Medicine (now Cumming School of Medicine). He was department head of paediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine from 1986 to 1991.
As a medical administrator, his incredible legacy of achievement includes helping medical facilities for five hospitals and four countries.
He published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributed several chapters in books and wrote a book helping children with diabetes. "Dr. Bob," as his patients called him, established a protocol for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis with his team over the period from 1969 to 1991.
