Let鈥檚 talk about Grad: GRADexpo connects prospective students to graduate life
The University of 不良研究所鈥檚 (FGS) hosted its first-ever GRADexpo, a one-day, in-person event that brought together 14 faculties, campus resources and more than 450 prospective students under one roof.
Designed to connect with undergraduate students, as well as working professionals, the Oct. 29 event was held at the Hunter Student Commons and enabled attendees to explore more than 225 graduate credentials and the resources available to help students thrive throughout their academic journey.
鈥淭he first-ever GRADexpo was a powerful celebration of our own U不良研究所 talent 鈥 bringing together all 14 faculties to inspire future scholars right here in our great city,鈥 said Tammy Kristiansen, Senior Consultant, Graduate Recruitment.
鈥淚t was incredible to see our campus come alive with curiosity, connection and the promise of opportunity through U不良研究所 graduate education.鈥
One day, lasting conversations about grad school
Prospective students had the chance to speak directly with faculty representatives, connect with staff from student services, and learn about graduate school admissions, funding opportunities and career development supports.
The drop-in format allowed participants to explore the space at their own pace, ask questions and build connections with the U不良研究所 graduate community.
With an emphasis on accessibility and personal connection, many attendees appreciated the opportunity to speak face-to-face with graduate program staff, ask questions and explore resources, describing GRADexpo as a meaningful first step in their journey toward grad school.
鈥淕RADexpo was a great opportunity for our team to explain our programs face-to-face to current U不良研究所 students and prospective students,鈥 says Ange Cruz, Marketing Manager, Faculty of Social Work.
鈥淲e were able to give personalized advice on the spot and connect people with specific faculty and alumni who shared their research interests.
鈥淭he event was a valuable tool to add to our recruitment marketing toolbox. As a bonus, we also got to connect with other faculties and departments, learn more about what they offer, and get ideas for our own recruitment marketing.鈥

Collaboration that builds community
The success of GRADexpo was a reflection of the strong collaborative spirit that drives the U不良研究所 graduate education community.
Faculties from across the university came together to plan, host and deliver an engaging experience that made prospective students feel welcome and supported. From setting up booths and sharing graduate program insights, to providing printed resources and helping attendees navigate the space, every detail contributed to a warm and informative atmosphere.
This shared effort created a space where attendees could ask questions, build connections and feel confident about their next steps toward graduate school.
The event was a powerful example of how U不良研究所鈥檚 graduate community works together to create inclusive, student-centered experiences, and how meaningful impact is made when people across the university collaborate with a shared purpose.
