Sept. 28, 2014
Inaugural Schumacher lecture is a first-class affair
It was an evening of reconnection and celebration. On Sept. 27, 2014, more than 100 alumni, students, faculty, staff, family and friends joined together at ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’s historic Ranchmen’s Club to commemorate 40 years of nursing education at the University of ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù. Included in the event was the inaugural Marguerite Schumacher Memorial Alumni Lecture presented by Master of Nursing graduate Jo-Ann Hnatiuk (MN’01).
The program included a mingling reception before the lecture where guests renewed acquaintances. The formal portion of the event kicked off with a welcome from Kate Wong, Faculty of Nursing Alumni Committee president, introductions from Dianne Tapp, dean, Faculty of Nursing and a re-reading by Faith Nixdorff (BN’74) of her convocation address from 40 years ago. Following Jo-Ann’s lecture on the life of a military nurse, guests concluded the evening with dessert, coffee, more conversation and the promise to meet up again next year.
